Rock Reunion Flops
These are 6 of Rock reunions that flopped most:
-The Sex Pistols: Sure, the punk progenitors honestly named their 1994 comeback tour “Filthy Lucre,” but still “tarnished their own lawless chapter in rock ‘n’ roll history.”
-Van Halen: A 1996 reunion of “elaborately coiffed” Eddie with “vital ingredient” “Diamond” David Lee Roth was short-lived.
-The Doors: “The Doors without Jim Morrison? That pretty much says it all.” After infighting and legal action, a partially reunited group is touring as Riders on the Storm.
-Motley Crue: Though the old crew is on the road—at least some of it—it’s “a case of too little too late for the wild men of rock ‘n’ roll.”
-Smashing Pumpkins: Just Billy Corgan now, and fans are miffed that he’s “simply using the commercial appeal of the Smashing Pumpkins’ name to further his solo efforts.”
-Limp Bizkit: The band with an “egotistical lead singer, a wildly pretentious artiste on guitar, (and) a bassist with a vapid personality” has reunited, “but it seems the fans grew bored of waiting for you.” Source: The Independent
