‘London investigators have uncovered a $130 million Ponzi scheme that duped hundreds of celebrities and businessmen around the world, reports theTelegraph. The scammers were so slick that many of their victims refuse to believe they were sucked in by the ersatz high-yield fund, and are still expecting payment, according to authorities. “These victims have been totally hoodwinked,” says one investigator. The probe is focusing on a Knightsbridge-based finance firm and several companies linked to it.’

No Likely Charges in M. Jackson Case

Bad news for those expecting charges in Michael Jackson’s case. A top official says doctors ‘aren’t suspects’ and Jackson’s long history of drug use could work against the case:

‘Despite “a lot of hysteria,” there likely won’t be murder charges in Michael Jackson’s death, a top law enforcement official tells the Los Angeles Times. “There’s nothing I have been told that would suggest a murder charge. It’s just so remote and so unsupported by the facts as they’ve been gathered,” he said. Jackson’s doctors “are not suspects,” he noted.
‘But don’t expect the probe into his death to finish soon, the insider says, calling the end “so far away.” Even if the coroner declares the case a homicide, charges may not be levied, notes another official. “There are plenty of homicides where no one is accused of murder or manslaughter”—and Jackson’s long history of drug use could help protect any defendant.’  Matt Cantor SOURCE: Los Angeles Times
