First Photos From Inside Fukushima

‘The photos released by Japan’s Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency are the first look inside the plant since the devastating March 11 earthquake and tsunami that flooded the facility and crippled the backup generators needed to cool the radioactive fuel…’

Convicted: 17 Years London Stalker Rapist

This case might make Sherlock Holmes squirm in his grave. ‘Night Stalker’ raped and assaulted elderly victims over 17 years in south London. And the London Police missed a chance to stop Grant in 1999 just because of a paperwork blunder.

‘A man has been branded one of the most prolific and depraved sex attackers in British history after being convicted of a string of assaults. Dubbed the Night Stalker, Delroy Grant, 53, raped and assaulted elderly victims over 17 years in south London.

‘Police said he was responsible for some of the most “awful and disturbing crimes” in the history of Scotland Yard. But they also apologised for missing chances which could have stopped him.

‘Police have linked Grant to incidents involving 203 separate surviving victims – but fear his actual number of victims could be as many as 600. They think many of his victims may have died without reporting what had happened.

‘Det Ch Insp Colin Sutton, from the Metropolitan Police (Met), said: “Officially we have looked at 203 offences but my guess would be you could probably double or treble that number.”

No Miranda Rights for Terror Suspects

It’s more scary to be suspected as terrorist now since new rules allow suspects to be questioned longer.

‘New rules allow investigators to hold domestic-terror suspects longer than others without giving them a Miranda warning, significantly expanding exceptions to the instructions that have governed the handling of criminal suspects for more than four decades…’

Lost Love is Biggest Regret
Others that make the list are family, education, career, etc…

‘Researchers at Northwestern University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign collected data from 370 adults in the United States during a telephone survey. They asked respondents to describe one memorable regret, explaining what it was, how it happened and whether their regret stemmed from something they did or didn’t do.

‘The most common regret involved romance, with nearly one in five respondents telling a story of a missed love connection. The second most common regret involved family issues, with 16 percent of respondents expressing regret about a family squabble or having been unkind to a sibling as a child…’

The New Center of America

According to a census, it’s Plato, Missouri. I hope this makes Plato on-line more popular.

‘The U.S. Census Bureau just raised the status of the southern Missouri community of Plato, an incorporated village in Texas County.

‘The bureau announced this afternoon that a spot less than three miles from Plato, population 109, is the country’s mean center of population, as of the official count in April 2010…’

  1. When I was 21, I thought I would avoid regrets by making sure I did anything that seemed an important thing to do. Little did I know, feelings are more important. Did I cause anyone to hurt? To suffer? I know I did – the only comfort is knowing I did not do it maliciously. I did not and do not believe in revenge thinking or acting.

I am so grateful that I have not had to be a dictator of a country or a person handing out punishment.

    • By jove May, I was also ‘trained’ to be practical and be unfeeling but the thing backfired. And I was accused of hurting many feelings too of which i was unaware of. But here’s a confession: like most, my greatest regret is also on lost love.

Everyone who doesn’t harm anyone should be grateful for not being depraved May. Thanks dear teacher.
