I knew a strict public Internet shop owner who doesn’t allow his operators to websurf or play games while on duty even at idle times. And a public Internet shop operator has lots of idle times. He/she only really ‘work’ when timing in or out a customer or when he have other extra tasks. As of last count, the owner had acquired three resignations. And I know that those employees were good ones. Maybe they were ‘bored to death’ without web-surfing at idle times.
‘Surfing the Web at work is not only harmless but it can even boost productivity, according to a team of researchers from the National University of Singapore. Web surfing offers workers “immediate gratification” and helps them “restore resources that are drained as a result of work,” the researchers reported at last week’s meeting of the Academy of Management in San Antonio, Texas…’

Unreleased iPhone Lost by Employee In a Bar, Again!?
If you’re a sleuth, you’re interested now aren’t you? It doesn’t look like a coincidence now that’s why. So is this an Apple publicity stunt? If so, what do they gain from this if any?
‘In a bizarre repeat of a high-profile incident last year, an Apple employee once again appears to have lost an unreleased iPhone in a bar, CNET has learned.
‘The errant iPhone, which went missing in San Francisco’s Mission district in late July, sparked a scramble by Apple security to recover the device over the next few days, according to a source familiar with the investigation.
‘Last year, an iPhone 4 prototype was bought by a gadget blog that paid $5,000 in cash. This year’s lost phone seems to have taken a more mundane path: it was taken from a Mexican restaurant and bar and may have been sold on Craigslist for $200. Still unclear are details about the device, what version of the iOS operating system it was running, and what it looks like…’

Measles Resurgent Due To Fear of Vaccination
‘Why should we be concerned? Measles is the most transmissible human disease known. Even with modern medical care, approximately 1 of every 3000 infected persons die, and many more are hospitalized or otherwise harmed as a result. Population coverage (herd immunity) needs to be in excess of 96% to prevent outbreaks. In addition, measles is a disease for which eradication is both possible and planned, a goal that obviously cannot be met given current vaccine coverage levels…’

Should we fear vaccination?
‘A recent review of 1,000 studies on vaccines show minimal if any danger in causing autism [Vaccines can cause inflammation of the brain, fainting, and seizures. But autism? Apparently not]. Any side effects that were identified tend to be short-lived.’

I get a little confused by the thinking of conscientious objectors to vaccines. How on earth did their lives turn out to be so disease free?
Glad to see you back Amy.
I think the possible answer is that some people thrive on vaccines and others do not; or today’s vaccines are not as healthy.
Hi Tinkerbelle. Thanks again!
