Online education is now a $34 billion industry and more and more students are finding new life and career education opportunities online.

‘Over the past decade or so, the Internet has become a huge source of information and education, especially for those who might be short on time, money or other resources.

‘And it’s not just crowdsourced data collections like Wikipedia or single-topic blogs that encourage individual learning; huge corporations and nonprofits are making online education and virtual classrooms a very formal affair these days…’

Tech Bigwigs Friend Facebook Spambot
‘Think it’s only old men in trench coats and — ahem — congressmen who like to share intimate moments with attractive strangers?

‘Based on my own Facebook experience, I’ve seen at least 100 influential tech, media and politics folks — men and some women — accept friend requests from attractive women they don’t know. For as long as three years, these supposedly savvy folks have been having personal conversations and sharing photos online in front of strangers that few (if any) of them know personally. And they are, inadvertently, sharing lots of their friends’ private data with these strangers…’

I’ve often wondered about people who “friend” all sorts of strangers on Face Book. As a result of the article you’ve highlighted, I removed a person who I accepted because I saw a mutual friend on it. However, he may have accepted friendship for the same reason as me. The person had 9 friends when I received the invitation and suddenly started to add dozens daily. I don’t like the look of it so she’s been “unfriended”.

That was a very wise move Amy. Sometimes, because of the carelessness of most users, I want to leave FB. Someone already sent me malware using a trusted friend’s account.
Incidentally, I can’t friend you now since FB has locked my account -probably a political move. Keep safe Amy.
